Continuing the Legacy

Dr. Arlene Miller

Dr. Arlene Miller first donated to The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) in 1985 and has never stopped. To date, Dr. Miller’s contributions have provided nearly 50,000 healthy meals to our neighbors in need. And, she has deepened her commitment by becoming a Legacy Society member, naming GBFB as a beneficiary in her will.

Dr. Miller shared, “Once I learned about this unmet need and the accomplishments of GBFB, I wanted to help. I chose to join the Legacy Society and provide a legacy gift so that, hopefully, others will never have to ask themselves, what can I provide in the way of a nutritious meal for my family today.”

GBFB’s planned giving program, the Legacy Society, launched in 2015 and today includes 25 members who have generously designated a gift to GBFB through their estate. The legacy of donors like Dr. Miller will allow GBFB to continue to make strides in ending hunger across Eastern Massachusetts for years to come.
